GIMP ist ein Open-Source-Bildbearbeitungs-Programm, das sich vom Funktionsumfang her mit kommerziellen Produkten wie Adobe Photoshop oder Paint Shop Pro vergleichen lässt. Da GIMP ursprünglich für Linux entwickelt wurde, ist zum Ausführen das GTK+ 2 Runtime Environment erforderlich, das dem Paket beiliegt.
