Mit großer Trauer verkünden wir den Tod unseres berühmten Amboseli-Elefanten Tim.

Er starb im Alter von 51 Jahren aus natürlichen Gründen. Tim war ein ikonischer großer Mann, dessen Ruhm viele Naturschutzkooperationen zwischen KWS und Naturschutzorganisationen katalysierte. Er eroberte die Herzen von Menschen auf der ganzen Welt, die nach Amboseli reisen würden, um ihn zu fotografieren. Er war ein wundervoller Elefant und ein Botschafter für seine Spezies.
Wir werden ihn vermissen, aber wir hoffen auch, dass seine Legende weiterlebt und er weiterhin Menschen dazu inspiriert, Elefanten zu schützen. Er hat auch viele Kälber gezeugt und wir sind froh, dass er ein langes Leben in freier Wildbahn führen durfte.

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of our famous Amboseli elephant Tim. He died at the age of 51 years old from natural causes. Tim was an iconic large male, whose fame catalyzed many conservation collaborations between KWS and conservation organizations. He captured the hearts of people around the world, who would travel to Amboseli to photograph him. He was a wonderful elephant, and an ambassador for his species.
We will miss him but we also hope that his legend lives on and he continues to inspire people to protect elephants. He has fathered many calves too, and we are happy he got to live a long life in the wild.
